Remembering the King of Pop; a birthday doodle for Freddie Mercury

 

On the 5th of September, it would have been Freddie Mercury´s 65th birthday. He was honored by Google with a videoclip dedicated to him:

Personally, I think the video and lyrics of  "I want to break free" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM8Ss28zjcE&feature=related are just fantastic, so I have doodled him in this lovely outfit.

Illustration; Exhibition "10 artists" at Untitled Gallery, Barcelona

In this work I played with the idea of masculine beauty that prevailed among the European noblemen during the 18th century. I wished to explore the harmony that can be found when intertwining the masculine with the feminine. 

The works were a part of the exhibition "10 artists" at the Untitled gallery in Barcelona in October 2010.
