Fun children´s drawings

This week I have a guest doodler on this blog; my 10-year old nephew Carl. He sent me a few doodles of mysterious little men and told me I was welcome to colour them as I wished, so below is a sampling of the collaboration between this budding artist and myself.

Children´s Rights illustration for the Museo do Humor de Fene

I was asked by the Museo do Humor de Fene (the Humor Museum) in Galicia, Spain, http://vello.vieiros.com/museohumor/museo.html
to contribute to their upcoming exhibition on Children´s Rights. The theme of my contribution is based on Article 31 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child;

"Every child has a right to relax, play and join in a wide range of activities".

You can read more about Children´s Rights here:
http://www.unicef.org/crc/
The exhibition will not open until December, but here is a sneak peek anyway...I hope you like it.

Remembering the King of Pop; a birthday doodle for Freddie Mercury

On the 5th of September, it would have been Freddie Mercury´s 65th birthday. He was honored by Google with a videoclip dedicated to him:

Personally, I think the video and lyrics of  "I want to break free" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM8Ss28zjcE&feature=related are just fantastic, so I have doodled him in this lovely outfit.

A tribute doodle dedicated to Amy Winehouse

Sad news...soul queen Amy Winehouse is no longer with us... so I made a doodle of her. We all wish she would have gone to rehab...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUmZp8pR1uc

Fashion illustrations for Spanish womenswear brand Diktons

More paper doll inspiration...I made these two fashion illustrations when working on the same summer collection as the garment drawings in the previous post for Spanish womenswear company Diktons.

They really have that old-fashioned, hand-drawn,  paper-doll-feeling, don´t they? The dress is definitely my favourite.

Illustration; printed garment drawings for Diktons

I just love coloured flat drawings...maybe because they remind me of paper doll clothes. These I made for the fashion company Diktons in Barcelona. I remember I actually scanned the printed fabric we had designed and reduced it to Barbie-scale in order to make the proportions accurate.

Summer is a time for weddings...and of course cute wedding invitations. Here are two examples of invitations I have designed, playing around with the silhouette of the places were the weddings took place.

Illustration; Smart Structures- drawings for the UPC, Barcelona.

Here is a sampling of my latest project-a series of drawings I prepared for one of the lecturers at the Civil Engineering School UPC Barcelona-Tech.

The drawings below are details from a series of illustrations I made related to how old buildings are subjected to more weight than they were designed to carry.

Love Thy Neighbour

Sports Illustrated

A long-suffering, overloaded building now and then...

But as technology shrinks...

we can now communicate with our cars...

..and soon enough, also with our buildings.
